At Casa Deyra, ensuring guest safety is a top priority. As part of our ongoing commitment to secure and responsible hospitality, we recently conducted a comprehensive fire safety trainingprogram for our guards and housekeeping team. This training focused on fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and the correct use of fire extinguishers, ensuring our staff is always ready to respond effectively in case of emergencies.

One of the most important aspects of the training was hands-on learning on how to properly use a fire extinguisher. Our team was trained using the widely recommended PASS technique: Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep. Staff members practiced pulling the safety pin, aiming at the base of the fire, squeezing the handle, and sweeping side to side to fully extinguish flames. This method ensures quick and efficient action during critical moments.

The training also covered different types of fires and the appropriate extinguishers to use in each situation. For example, Class A fires (wood, paper, fabric), Class B fires (flammable liquids), and Class C fires (electrical equipment) require different approaches. Understanding these differences helps prevent misuse, which could otherwise worsen the situation.

Special attention was given to kitchen-related hazards, including fires caused by cooking oil or gas leaks. Our housekeeping staff learned that water should never be used on oil or electrical fires. Instead, they are trained to use the correct extinguisher or a fire blanket, depending on the situation, to safely control the fire without spreading it further.

In addition to extinguisher use, the training included real-life fire simulations and evacuation drills. These exercises helped our guards and housekeeping team practice guiding guests calmly to safety, identifying emergency exits, and responding without panic. This practical experience builds confidence and ensures quick decision-making during real emergencies.

Prevention remains a key focus at Casa Deyra. Our team conducts routine checks to identify potential risks, including faulty wiring, unattended appliances, and gas leaks.
